Allah's Divine Name Al Ba'ith, The Resurrector and Raiser of the Dead.
The root, بعث means to awaken, make manifest, and call forth.
The most noticeable interpretation alludes to the Day of Judgement, Allah calling us to face Him with the deeds we cultivated during our short lives.
This name instills God consciousness - a reminder that we will all be accountable.
A strong contradiction to a non-believer's philosophy, where purpose is lacking and is instead defined through worldly fulfillment.
As Muslims, we carry an upper hand knowing that this life is no more than a step towards our ultimate destination.
"Did you then think that We had created you without purpose, and that vou would never be returned to Us?"(23:115)
Sheikh Al Nabulsi beautifully emphasizes several of the meanings mentioned above, stating that Ba'th comes as "inspiration from Allah for His servants to do good."
Ba'th is not simply resurrection, it's also the ideas, inspirations, and sudden bursts of motivation.
So, when you get these motivations, you should act upon them urgently. We are given windows to act but are distracted from these pursuits by worldly affairs. The Devil plays a strong hand in this.
As good acts inspire more, the behavior is hard to stop unless it is halted before it ever begins.
Otherwise, it might become a habit and that alone is motivation for a plot against you and your improvement inspired by Al Ba'th Himself. Our 'random inspiration' is more than just a good idea.
Understanding that our ideas are not just mindless thoughts gives them the credibility they deserve so we can use them to pave our path towards Allah.
